Sanctioned High Power League: The Sanctioned High Power League is held on the third Sunday of each month from Aril through October and is open to the public. Registration the morning of the event opens at 8AM and closes at 9:15AM. Pre-registration closes the Tuesday before the match. For registration contact the Match Director, David Betz at 574-269-9866. Firing will commence at 9AM.
The course of fire is the National Match Course consisting of:
Sighters: 3 shot, SR Target, 200 yards, time: 1 minute/shot
Stage 1: Slow fire, Standing, 1 string / 10 shots, SR Target, 200yards, time: 1 minute/shot
Stage 2: Rapid fire, Sitting or Kneeling, 1 string / 10 shots, SR Target, 200 yards, time: 60 seconds/string
Stage 3: Rapid fire, Prone, 1 string / 10 shots, SR-42 Target, 200 yards, time:
70 seconds/string
Stage 4: Slow fire, Prone, 1 string / 20 shots, MR-52 Target, 200 yards, time:
1 minute/shot
The current NRA rules shall govern the match. Any safe ammunition may be used. No Tracers or Incendiary Rounds permitted. Rifles must be NRA Match Rifle (3.3, 3.3.4) or Service Rifle (rule 3.1, 3.1.1, 3.1.2). An approved Empty Chamber Indicator will be required at all matches. WRPC has M-1 Garand’s and two AR-15’s available for use at the match for a $5.00 fee. There is a limited amount of ammunition available for sale for the match ranging in price from $12.00 to $15.00.
Match fees are $10.00 per adult, $2.00 per junior, and for any challenges a fee of $1.00 per challenge (rule 16.1).
John Garand Match: The John Garand Match is typically held one Sunday each year and is open to the public. Registration the morning of the event opens at 8AM and closes at 9:15AM. Pre-registration closes the Tuesday before the match. See the event calendar for this year match date. Match fees are $35.00 per adult, $25.00 per junior, and for any challenges a fee of $1.00 per challenge (rule 16.1). Match fees also includes issued ammunition for the match. Firing will commence at 9AM the morning of the match. For registration or more information contact Match Director, David Betz at 574-269-9866.
Rifles that may be used in the John Garand Match include as issued U.S. Rifle,
caliber .30, M1903 Springfield, M1917 Enfield, M-1 Garand, M1941 Johnson, and U.S. carbine, caliber .30 M1. 55 rounds of .30-06 or .30 M1 per competitor will be issued by the Match Director at the match.
Course of fire John Garand Match, Course B:
Sighter’s: 5 shot, SR Target, 200 yards, time: 1 minute/shot
Stage 1: Slow fire, Prone, 1 string / 20 shots, SR Target, 200 yards, time: 1 minute/shot
Stage 2: Rapid fire, Standing to Prone, 1 string / 10 shots, SR Target, 200 yards, time: 70/80 seconds/string
Stage 3: Rapid fire, Standing to Sitting, 1 string / 10 shots, SR Target, 200 yards, time:
60/70 seconds/string
Stage 4: Slow fire, Standing, 1 string / 10 shots, SR Target, 200 yards, time:
1 minute/shot
Note: WRPC has M-1 Garands and M1 Carbines available at the match for a fee of $5.00.
Other Rifle Events: WRPC also offers an Off-Hand match on the third Sunday of November and December, and typically holds an M1 Carbine match one Sunday a year.
